The Catalan Federation reports that Josep M. Salvat, a member of the Espardenya Vilallonga del Camp and Òscar Luceño, a member of the Excursionist Club Prats, both 29 years old, suffered a fatal accident when they descended from the Eiger (3,970 m , Bernese Oberland, Switzerland).

From the club of Òscar they add that the climbers had climbed the ridge Mittellegi and that, at seven in the morning, they called by telephone to say that they had made summit. During the descent down the west side towards the station of the Jungfraujoch the accident happened, of which we do not yet have more data.

Local media reports that the bodies were located on the west side by a Lauterbrunnen rescue team. The device was launched after the Bern cantonal police warned of the disappearance. In the rescue, a helicopter of the Air Glaciers aviation company participated.

There are already eight climbers killed this week in the Swiss Alps: five Germans from the same team in the Lagginhorn (4,010 m in Valais) on Tuesday, and another climber on Sunday in the Wetterhorn (Bernese Oberland).

From Desnivel, we send our condolences to relatives and friends of Josep M. and Òscar.
