Note:  Announcements on the ClimbRI email group (not AMC affiliated) will go out for each class and for each weekend trips.  Registration will begin after those announcements are posted.  So, you can't sign-up for the class/trip before the trip announcement.

Jan 11-12  Ice Climbing  Lincoln, NH - Designed for experienced rock climbers who have attended the rock courses or have equivalent experience.  Must have or rent, boots, crampons, and ice tools. Feb 8-9  Ice Climbing Smuggler’s North Conway, NH - Designed for experienced rock climbers who have attended the rock courses or have equivalent experience.  Must have, or rent, own gear. March 29 (rain date 30) Ross Rocks clean-up, This is our annual Adopt-A-Crag effort.  We meet at the cliff at 9:00 a.m. and clean up the trash left by idiots too stupid to clean up after themselves. Lead:  Ken Hamel.

Apr 5-6 (12,13 rain date)  Gym to Crag Rock Climbing Class Part  I- Ross Rocks, Killingly, CT. Leader: Rich Redding  See additional course information.  

Apr 19 (rain date 26) & April 26 (rain date May 4)  Gym to Crag - Rock Climbing Class Part II -  Leader: Rich Redding. See additional course information. 

May

May 10- (11 rain date) Self-Rescue Class - For lead climbers and experienced seconds. Held at a crag in CT and taught by an AMGA instructor who literally wrote the book on climbing self-rescue. Class is limited to verified trad leaders who lead on AMC Narragansett trips. The AMC will fund the bulk of course cost but for buy-in the cost to you is: AMC members: $40, non-members $45. Leader: Frank Sokolow   See additional course information.

May 17 Gym to Crag - Sport Climbing Class - Beach Pond, Exeter, RI. Register by emailing: Brian Phillips.  If there is sufficient interest multiple classes may be held. 

May 24 -  AMC RI Women's+ Crag Day - Beach Pond, Exeter RI ,   A casual day of sport climbing and top roping for women and non-binary individuals at RI’s only sport climbing crag (Beach Pond, Exeter, RI). Meant to build community among local women and non-binary climbers and to help orient newcomers to the trainings, trips, and community of the AMC RI chapter.  This gathering will cater to a wide range of experiences. An intake form will ask about your experience belaying (top rope, sport) and how much of your own gear you have or may need to borrow. Contact Emily Koo (she/her)  at emilywkoo@gmail.com or Rowan Batts (they/them) at rowanbatts18@gmail.com with any questions.  The timing of the event may also be adjusted based on weather and level of interest. There is limited parking at the trailhead location so coordinating carpools will be highly encouraged.

Jun 7-8  Rock Climbing Gunks, Gardiner, NY - Climbers comfortable on 5.6 routes or better.  Climbers whom have attended the climbing classes are given preference.  Lodging for the entire group is arranged at nearby camp with cabins. Dinner is cost share Saturday night at the camp. Leader: Greta Cottrell   Contact the leader to register and get specific trip information.  See general trip and gear information.

Jul 12-13  Rock Climbing Cannon/Franconia Notch - Climbers comfortable on 5.8 routes or better. Lodging TBD. Dinner at an après climb restaurant.  Leader: Rich Redding Co-Leader: Victor Neirenckx

Jul 26 Gym to Crag - Sport Climbing Class - Beach Pond, Exeter, RI. Register by emailing: Brian Phillips. If you don't know how to clean a sport anchor you must take this course befoe registering for the Rumney trip.

Oct 11-13 Rock Climbing, Gunks, NY- Climbers comfortable on 5.6 routes or better.  Lodging for the entire group is arranged at nearby camp with cabin. Lodging is available Thursday night (3rd) for those who want to climb on Friday for a three day weekend.  Dinner is cost share. Leader: Frank Sokolow.
